Papa’s Sweet Double Roti Bread

“My Papa’s the best!” Bucketlist chuckle: Never feels silly. Whether from multi-soul evolutions or just this go-around, I show gratitude to Parents. Even as a kid.

Bucketlist confession: I’d make my Parents bed. When they came from work and fed, entertained and did the millions they did for me, I’d wait till they were in bed. Then I’d climb in to read them a chapter from a favorite book until finished. Jane Eyre was the last book I read them. I stayed near though I travelled the world. Later, my Partner and I would vacation with them. I even took water aerobics to get Mom into regular exercise.

Papa’s Sweet Double Roti Bread is a childhood favorite. Delicious. Gooey. Death-Free™. No yeast. No bake. Easy dessert or dish. Who doesn’t like peeling layers? I happily peel my Elmers-glued fingers any day.

Bucketlist Lifehack™: Workout with the wiser generation. They’re serious about it and there’s no pressure. I still take those classes. I’ll never regret what I did for my Parents. I wish I tried harder to teach Mama to drive again.

Food is one of the greatest gifts Parents give. Mine made daily fresh food and bread. No matter their exhaustion or burdens, I ate well. So did every kid they raised and their friends too. Till this day my sweet Father makes what I crave. Papa’s Sweet Double Roti Bread is a childhood favorite. Delicious. Gooey. Death-Free™. No yeast. No bake. Easy dessert or dish. Who doesn’t like peeling layers? I happily peel my Elmers-glued fingers any day. Side bar, “roti” is bread. Bucketlist double confession: I cringe at “chai tea”. I very hesitantly wrote “roti bread”. Growing up sliced bread was “double roti.” Most my life I thought dustpan was “scrapper.”

Not having to grow up is one of the best gifts my Father still gives me. I wanted to share it. His style. Papa’s Sweet Double Roti Bread brings out the grateful child. Yummy in your tummy. It’s cool if your Dad’s the best too.

Bon appétit, Friends.
